Broken Halo Management is an indie music management company. The creative direction is inspired by the concept of “the boy with the broken halo,” a line made famous from the Black Key’s song Sinister Kid. On the surface, imagery is bright, cheery and retro, but each element always has an undertone or a “broken halo,” so to speak.

ART DIRECTION
Brand colors, video footage and gif design throughout reference cartoons like Road Runner & Wile e Coyote to capture the idea of brightness with an undertone.

THE LOGO
The logo and imagery rely on the contrast of complex emotions: adorable guilt and cunning sweetness manifested in the doe-eyed dog, a character who tries to do right by its owner, but can’t seem to avoid making a total mess.

A MOODBOARD SNAPSHOT
A snapshot of inspiration: Isaiah Rashad and Tuneyards' album artwork, crayon & collage mediums, smiley faces in creepy places and melancholy cartoons.

The 112 Project is the first in a series of remote collaborations led by drummer/composer Jared Schonig. After improvising a short piece of music on the drums at 112 tempo, Jared sent the drum track to three different pairings of musicians to create something fresh.

A MOODBOARD SNAPSHOT
The art direction leans heavily on the idea of a venn diagram to represent how the same core drum track at 112 bpms sounds wildly unique when used by three different musician.
